Shelbyville Power System was created by a private act of Tennessee state legislation on March 10, 1939. Today Shelbyville Power System serves 11,900 accounts, with approximately 4,600 distribution transformers, on approximately 217 miles of 7,200 volt conductors.
Shelbyville Power System has three delivery points from the Tennessee Valley Authority. The total capacity of the substations is 265 MVA.
